Supporting Police Officers through their training courses and promotional examinations, Police-Training.co.uk now includes several new features providing training managers with a number of options in support of the courses they run.
The flexibility and support that Police-Training now delivers is a key element as UK Police Forces are being given increasing responsibility for training their own officers. The advent of the Initial Police Learning Development Programme (IPLDP), coupled with the closure of National Training Centres, has presented a new set of challenges for Police Training Departments and Colleges. These changes, alongside continuing support for OSPRE and CID training and the requirement to train more Police Community Support Officers (PCSO), means the demands on delivering officer training are now at an all time high.
Police-Training provides a comprehensive repository of almost 3000 unique questions written by qualified trainers which are aligned to the syllabus and content of courses. Forces using the system are then able to administer and manage a number of aspects including:
Loading of new subscriptions
Creation of courses
Knowledge Check design
Scheduling of Knowledge Checks
Management Reports and Statistics
Key elements of focus are to be able to support the delivery of the IDLDP across any Force and rolling out specific content and features for PCSO later in the year. This will be achieved through consultation with Forces to ensure that it provides a service which supports operational training activities.
Ongoing improvement of the services Police-Training provides will ensure it becomes a key system in helping Forces support and manage their in-house training for years to come.
