British Transport Police goes live with LOCARD® webSOC

On 23rd September 2006 British Transport Police, Scenes of Crime Department, which covers England, Scotland and Wales, went live with LOCARD® webSOC.

Scientific Support Manager, David Brownlee (pictured left), states "I am really happy with all aspects of this project. LOCARD® forms a key component to the modernisation of the Scientific Support Unit, encompassing not only the LOCARD® Case Management System but digital photography, mobile working and easier (real time) access to case information and photographs throughout the whole Force."

As they operate within a national Force, British Transport Police Crime Scene Examiners often have to travel great distances to attend crime scenes. Having the ability to update scenes and exhibits whilst away from the office through LOCARD® webSOC has been an invaluable tool in their operational effectiveness.

Project Manager, Ranjit Chagar (pictured right), said: "Thanks to the support received from Advantage, the implementation went smoothly. After a month of live use the users have reported they have seen an improvement to their working day."

British Transport Police Crime Scene Examiners can not only update LOCARD® webSOC, but can also remotely access Fotoweb, email and various Force applications.
