Mobility

Geographic sectors are secured using specially prepared bar-coded seals that are read and recorded via rugged, mobile, handheld devices. The security status of sectors can now be monitored in real time and the effectiveness of the security force can be measured for performance. These mobile handheld devices offer access to the visual images generated from the cameras, as well as to photographic and mapping images of the secured area. A host of other essential reference material, tailored to suit the operational requirements of the security team, is also available on handhelds via a local intranet (eg suspects, key holders, VIP lists etc).
The wireless handheld device provides a versatile, mobile tool for operatives to execute a wide range of tactical security duties in the field. Above all, they provide mission critical data at the point of decision, quickly and easily, anywhere across the operational area. The principal capabilities and features of the handheld device are:

Automatic Data Updating
Heartbeat synchronization ensures that data stored in each handheld is automatically uploaded to the Command & Control unit and made available to all other system components.

Heartbeat synchronization occurs once a minute in normal use. When out of range, each device stores search information locally to allow off-line operation.

Camera Monitoring
Handheld devices can select and monitor camera images in real time, with an option to control PTZ cameras.

 Security Monitoring
Handheld devices have integrated bar code scanners. Using these scanners, operators can record their search activities at each location. Seal numbers associated with each location are read by the in-built barcode scanners and then automatically checked against the master database on the Command & Control suite. An updated view of the security landscape is then presented automatically to senior commanders.

Location Data
In conjunction with the Command & Control unit, heartbeat synchronisation ensures that the latest location information for operatives is updated, based upon either recent scanning activity, or more accurately through an optional GPS module deployed with the handheld.

 Hardware Protection
Misplaced, lost or stolen handhelds can be remotely deactivated and their contents wiped to prevent their data from being misused.
