Command & Control
ISIS provides a single focus for the command and control of the entire security operation. This comprehensive suite presents a visual representation of the security landscape using aerial photographic imagery overlaid with GIS information. This representation will change in real time, via the wireless network, to reflect the security status of the whole operation. ISIS will also display the location of manpower resources and other assets deployed, through the skilful integration of a GPS capability. During an incident, the decision action cycle is shortened yet strengthened by these features. All actions are recorded in a tamper proof audit trail for future use or to support subsequent investigation.
The Command & Control Suite delivers a range of technologies to manage the entire security operation. It provides senior decision makers with a single, integrated real time view of the status of the security landscape. Mapping, photography and digital imagery of this landscape are visible simultaneously on a high quality, computer console with dual screens, deployed in a weather resistant, rugged assembly.
The system operates in 3 modes:
|
 |
Initial Search Mode Secured areas, wireless network camera placements and other security technologies are assessed and incorporated into the initial security plan.
Ongoing Mode Secured areas are periodically monitored for threat status. Intelligent colour coding of sites indicates current status, allowing sites to be prioritised for revisiting.
Threat Mode In response to a specific threat, this mode allows targeted searches to be initiated very quickly.
The principal capabilities and features of the system include:
Security Status The Command & Control unit software uses colour coding of data objects. Operators can therefore, at a glance, establish and evaluate the security status of all locations within their operational area of responsibility. They can also monitor remotely specific equipment functions (eg battery life on cameras). As new information is received, the colour of displayed data changes to reflect ongoing field activity.
Video Source Control The fully integrated, secure, wireless network allows real-time viewing and control of surveillance camera imagery from fixed and mobile camera placements. The software, amongst others, provides:
- Navigation controls for selecting and monitoring network based video sources. - Selection of up to 16 video sources for simultaneous display. - Recording from any network video source. - Replay of previously recorded video from any network video source. - Copying of selected video images and sequences for export onto CD-RW. - Optional hardware connection to existing video systems. - Setting of motion detection parameters.
Locating Operatives Via GPS enabled handhelds, the Command & Control Suite displays the location of all operatives in the field in real time.
Automatic Data Analysis Updated security information gathered by field operatives using handheld terminals (such as when a location was searched) is automatically transmitted to the server or stored and transmitted at a later time when communications are available. No manual intervention is necessary and the Command & Control Suite will automatically display the new data.
Field Operative Communications Text messages and camera images can be instantly relayed to all mobile units rapidly and simultaneously, removing the need to call operatives individually.

Equipment Security The Command & Control Suite manages the allocation of handheld devices to field operatives. Any device not currently recorded as “in use” on the system is unable to communicate with the server. Lost or stolen handheld devices can be deactivated and their data wiped, to ensure security information is not compromised.
Audit Trails The system maintains historic records of all data generated during the security operation. This can be browsed for post operation review, audit purposes or investigation and then subsequently used for planning future events.
Intranet Hosting A host Intranet site is provided on the system to allow access from Handhelds or from the mobile Planning Suite. Operatives can access up-to-date information for current security activities or view additional material relating to current operational practices. A library of additional data can be created and accessed for any object on the security plan. Operators can select any object on the plan and recall additional hyperlinked support information such as notes, photographs and graphics.
