A central activity supporting the work undertaken by Advantage is the provision of services across the whole of the software life cycle. Advantage System Solutions provides a 'cradle to grave' IT service encompassing both highly experienced analysts and broad based development staff. The work conducted covers all aspects of the software development lifecycle from feasibility studies and requirements specification, through to full system implementation and support. In particular, Advantage System Solutions undertakes work in the following core areas:

- Scoping and Feasibility Studies;
- Requirements capture and specification;
- Design and implementation of applications;
- System support and maintenance;
- IT Audit and Reviews;
- Outsourcing and IT Placements.

In all work, we provide an independent view and will assess and advise on the most appropriate approach, method, techniques and implementation environment to each individual client application. All our work is undertaken using the most appropriate structured methods and techniques depending on the lifecycle approach adopted. Examples of the methods used at Advantage include: SSADM, DSDM, Yourdon, JSD, RAD, UML and OO with each being supported by CASE tools as appropriate. This work is also underpinned by investment in extensive training for Advantage's staff in the tools and techniques used.

We use a wide variety of languages, tools, database management packages and graphical user interfaces (GUI). To this end, Advantage is continually evaluating products to ensure that the solutions provided to our clients benefit from the latest technologies and that applications are developed in an optimum fashion. Typical products used by Advantage at the Corporate level, range from ORACLE or SQL Server RDBMS environment and toolsets through to Microsoft Office for desk level applications. To complement this capability, Advantage is also well versed in the design and development of reporting facilities using tools such as Business Objects and Crystal Reports.
Advantage has extensive experience of all commonly used hardware systems ranging from stand alone PCs through to Client server applications and mainframes. Typical hardware products encountered include SUN, DEC VAX and IBM. Our experience also includes the design and use of LAN and WAN configurations to satisfy multi-site requirements.

Advantage also has extensive capability in the design and development of web based applications for use on Intranets or the Internet.
