Technical

This article covers questions which are technical in nature.

What kind of security model does the system use?
FARYNOR™ provides a very granular approach to allow users to define the actions that can or cannot be taken by particular users. Users are granted permissions using role definitions that are associated with their Windows log in credentials. The role is mapped to a series of permission statements that indicate the ability to View, Edit or Delete the information held within FARYNOR™. Using this role definition material can be removed or made available as required using the facilities presented in the Administration function.

Can new functionality be added to generate new actions when an outcome is recorded for a job?
FARYNOR™ provides functionality through Deliverables to manage this requirement. Deliverables are triggered at the end of a particular job step and cause the system to perform the defined action. For example, Deliverables include the ability to generate a calendar appointment for staff associated with the job, check that information is entered in a defined sequence, or, set the next inspection date based on the risk assessment, amongst others.

Can a job be assigned to more than one person?
Yes, up to three posts can be associated with a particular job.

Can categorisations other than Home Office categories be used for premises?
Yes, the categories of property are definable using the Administration function provided.

Has the performance of the system been measured?
FARYNOR™ has been designed to support the London Fire & Emergency Planning Authority which will have responsibility for ~650,000 properties once the Regulatory Reform Order (Fire Safety) is passed. Consequently, no issues associated with performance are expected across the country where a smaller number of properties will need to be managed.

Can the system be searched using multiple types of information, for example, all property that is a Hotel and holds a Liquor licence?
Yes, FARYNOR™ provides extensive search facilities which enable multiple search criteria to be used to find information in the system. This search information can also be extended by adding new fields to the database which are marked as Searchable. This provides a highly extendable and flexible addition to the capability provided by default.
