Case Study ...
Police-Training.co.uk
Police-Training.co.uk was developed in early 2001 to present promotional content, in the format of examination questions, via the Internet in a site dedicated to supporting officers’ studies, whether they were undertaking probationer training, preparing themselves for promotional examinations, or even seeking to become part of their Force’s CID. The site has already been used by over 10,000 individuals as part of their self-study programme and by police training centres nationwide.
More recent offerings included tailoring content specifically to training courses, both nationally and within individual Police Forces. As Forces become more responsible for delivering their own training, Police-Training has evolved to support their corporate initiatives.
Police-Training content is supplied by a number of experienced content providers, including retired and serving officers, to provide the coverage and depth required to cater for all levels of officer, from students to promotion candidates and beyond.
Outside of the question content itself, the site provides an on-line tutor, study guides and forums to enable users to exchange views and ask questions. Newer features centre on the notion of a community operating within a particular Force. This enables training managers to:
· Create and issue accounts to those individuals who require them
· Create local news items for their particular Force
· Create knowledge check templates and schedule these for particular courses
· Management and Reporting of individuals undergoing training
