Family Liaison Officer System (FLOS)
The Family Liaison Officer System (FLOS) is a web based system that supports Family Liaison Officers (FLO) by managing workloads and meetings with FLO co-ordinators.
Family Liaison Officers are police officers who undertake additional counselling duties in respect of the families of victims of crime.
FLOS is the first system of its kind in the country and was developed in response to ACPO guidelines regarding the welfare of the FLOs.
The Family Liaison Officer System:
· provides a register of FLOs, as recommended by the ACPO manual
· monitors FLO workloads and details FLO involvement
· complies with the Government Protective Marking Scheme (GPMS)
· provides an audit trail of every data update
· provides easy access to a directory of organisations able to offer help/support
· provides details of an incident
· provides a comprehensive search facility
· e-mails notification FLO of meetings due to the FLO co-ordinator
· provides a way to share experience between FLOs
· e-mails notification of change in the welfare status of an FLO to the FLO co-ordinator
· manages 6 monthly meetings between the co-ordinator and the FLO
