Project Management Information System (PROMIS)
Project Management Information System (PROMIS) is an administration and assessment system for the British Army, implemented entirely via a browser-based interface. The system allows administration and assessment recording for a number of courses, as well as a management information module and supervisory functions.
The facility exists for education centres within the Army to record details of individuals and track their learning throughout their time in service. This ranges from young soldiers looking for promotion and attending command leadership and management courses, through to officers on JOLP and MA courses, as well as recording and basic skills information. ETS officer’s qualifications and PGCE assignments are also catered for.
The course administration across all levels enables users to add, assign bids and priorities to students/officers before loading courses prior to commencement. Joining instructions are generated automatically on loading. During the course, the instructors can assess each student and enter grades and comments which are then used in the end of course reports which PROMIS generates.
Any accreditations towards which individuals are working are also recorded, as are the outcomes of any resettlement briefings conducted.
Facilities also exist to generate a large number of management reports, full ad-hoc reporting and supervisory functions, and to allow individuals to complete validation questionnaires and view course timetables.
